On May 11th, 2010 the residents of West Orange will vote to elect two Council members for West Orange.

The Board of Trustees of the Valley Community Watch is planning to invite the candidates to our public meeting. We have the pleasure to announce that all 6 council candidates have confirmed their participation in our Q&A meeting.

The following six candidates will run for the two West Orange council seats: Incumbent council president Susan McCartney, Victor Cirilo, Gerardo Guarino, Paul Krakoviak, Rodolfo Rodriguez and Jill Tekel.

The Board of Trustees will prepare a list of questions for the candidates, based on your input. If you had the opportunity to ask them a question, what would you ask?

On October 19th during the regularly scheduled general meeting of the Valley Community Watch and Civic Association, nominations for the Board of Trustees positions will be accepted. The term is for the 2010 – 2011 calendar year.

All residents of the Valley/Hazel neighborhood are welcome to submit their candidacy for:

• Chairperson
• Vice-Chairperson
• Secretary
• Treasurer
• Communications/Membership
• Sgt at Arms
• Emeritus

All candidates must be present at the October 19th meeting and be accompanied by a VCW neighborhood resident to second their nomination.

The Valley Community Watch will have a public meeting on Tuesday September 22nd, at 7:30PM in the gym at Hazel Avenue Elementary School.
The agenda is as follows:

• Mayor John McKeon will discuss any issues or concerns residents may have regarding West Orange and the beginning of the school year.
• Rose DeSena, Director of the Neighborhood Preservation Program, will present for residents approval, the 4th year plan of the NPP.
• Valley Community Watch will announce details on this year’s election for positions on the VCW Board of Trustees.
