New 2012/2013 VCW Board of Trustees
The Valley Community Watch Elections were held on Monday night, November 28th at Hazel Avenue School. The new 2012/2013 Board members are listed below. All positions were uncontested.

Secretary: Bruni Nelson
Treasurer: Karen De Jong
Communications: Michael Clarke
Sergeant at Arms: Rose DeSena

Elections for 2011 – 2013 Board of Trustees
Nominations for the Board of Trustees positions will be accepted at the meeting. The term is for 2011 – 2013.
All residents and business owners of the Valley neighborhood* are welcome to submit their candidacy for the following open positions:
- Chairperson
- Vice-Chairperson
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Communications
- Sgt at Arms
- Chair Emeritus
* See Article VIII – Membership of the bylaws to review eligibility rules for being a member and submitting a nomination.
All candidates must be present at the October 17th meeting and must be accompanied by a VCW neighborhood resident to second their nomination.

The Township of West Orange will hold a special election on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 for one council member-at-large. Please join us for an opportunity to meet the candidates:

Moderator: Jonathan Ridley – VCW Vice Chairperson
The format for the evening will be:
- Moderator will briefly introduce the candidates.
- Candidates will have 5 minutes to introduce themselves.
- The moderator will present 5 questions (in random order) to all the candidates. Questions will be provided by residents.
- At the end of the 5 questions, candidates will present closing comments.

Special Town Council Election, November 2
West Orange will hold a special election on Tuesday, November 2 for one council member-at-large.
Anyone interested in running for office should contact the Office of the Essex County Clerk at 973-621-4923 ext. 227.
Election Day Reminder: Tuesday, May 11th
West Orange elections for Mayor and Township Council will be held on Tuesday, May 11th.
Find your polling place at the NJ Department of State website.

BOE Candidates’ Night
The League of Women Voters is moderating a question and answer session for candidates for the West Orange Board of Education.
Tuesday, April 13th, 7:30pm
West Orange High School

The candidates will make opening statements followed by a question and answer period from the audience. All voters are encouraged to attend. Sponsored by The West Orange Council of PTAs. If you are unsure of your polling location, please call the town clerk at 973-325-4155.

On October 19th during the regularly scheduled general meeting of the Valley Community Watch and Civic Association, nominations for the Board of Trustees positions will be accepted. The term is for the 2010 – 2011 calendar year.
All residents of the Valley/Hazel neighborhood are welcome to submit their candidacy for:

- Treasurer
- Communications/Membership
- Sgt at Arms
- Emeritus
