Hazel School Plant Sale Tomorrow & Friday!

The Hazel Avenue School PTA is hosting their annual Plant Sale Event. All plants come directly from the grower. Prices will be comparable to local grocery and garden center prices. Consider supporting the school and beautifying your home.

Thursday, May 3th
3:00 – 5:00PM

Friday, May 4th
8:00 – 9:00AM & 3:00 – 5:00PM

The sale will have the most popular requested plants: flats of flowering annuals (begonia, impatiens, marigolds and petunias), vegetable flats, large geranium patio pots, herb pots, 4.5″ potted plants, gallon tomatoes and hanging baskets.

Proceeds from this year’s Spring Plant will help purchase a secure garden shed. The shed will be the home for a class set of garden tools, adult sized tools, hoses and supplies.

Hazel Avenue School Plant Sale!

The Hazel Avenue School PTA is hosting their first Mother’s Day Plant Sale Event.

Saturday, May 7th
9:00 – 12:00PM.

Geraniums, Impatiens, Petunias, Hibiscus, ferns, veggies and more! Refreshments will be available. All proceeds benefit the Green Thumb Committee’s efforts to maintain the Rainbow Garden and provide curriculum materials.

Garden Contest Winners

The winners of our first annual garden contest were presented with their prizes during out last meeting. They each received  gift certificates for Pleasantdale Nurseries.

Mayor Parisi attended the meeting and said our contest inspired him to try to create one for the township. He said that in general there would be a greater focus on the apprearance of township properties.

Valley Police and Community Center on Valley Road

Mayor Rob Parisi will be in attendance to talk to the Valley residents.
Also, the Garden Contest winners will be receiving their prize.

Garden Contest Winners!

We are pleased to announce the winners of our Beautiful Garden Contest. Each winner will receive a gift certificate from Pleasantdale Nurseries located at 240 Pleasant Valley Way in West Orange.

Beautiful Garden Contest

The VCW is sponsoring a Beautiful Garden contest. If you have a beautiful garden, or know of someone else in the neighborhood that does, send us an e-mail at info@valleycommunitywatch.com

Be sure to include the following information with your nomination:

* Nominee’s name
* Nominee’s street address
* Nominee’s phone number
* Location of the garden (front, back, side yard)
* Authorization to take a photo and post it on our web site
* If nominating someone else, please include your name and phone number too

Entries must be received by July 16th. Prizes will be awarded to the top 4 winners. Winners will be selected by the VCW Board of Trustees and will be announced at the VCW Neighborhood BBQ on Monday, July 19th.

Spring Garden Contest
