Recent Burglaries in the Neighborhood
We were advised by the WO Police Department about two home burglaries in the Valley:
- There was an attempted Burglary at 25 Hazel Avenue on April 30 at 9:35am. Two arrests were made: One 18 year old male and one juvenile.
- Another burglary occurred at 12 Oxford Terrace on April 30 between 9am and 12:55pm. The point of entry was a broken pane of glass on the front door. The door was unlocked through the broken pane and entry gained. Jewelry and possibly baseball cards were taken from the house. No arrest has been made and no further information is available at this time.

Arrest Made in Connection to Home Burglaries
According to news sources, Dawshawn Porter, 19, of Orange, was taken into custody by West Orange police. He is thought to be connected to at least three overnight home burglaries in the Gregory and Valley neighborhoods.
Porter is charged with burglary and theft related to three burglaries that occurred since the beginning of January this year.
He also is charged with three burglaries in South Orange, according to South Orange police. Property (including cameras and laptops) was recovered from recent burglaries. The investigation is continuing. Porter is in Essex County jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
